Meetings for ELA Lead Teachers are focused on equipping teachers to implement evidence-based language and literacy practices and interventions that are aligned to Ohio's Learning Standards and are appropriate for ALL learners. Because literacy develops across a continuum as learners move through and between the phases of emergent literacy, early literacy, conventional literacy, and adolescent literacy, there are three distinct ELA groups that meet to network and learn together: Math/Literacy K-2, Literacy 3-5, and English 6-12.
Participants are teachers who have been selected by their district leadership team to serve as a teacher leader. Designated lead teachers are responsible for disseminating information to administrators and staff at their home district/building, but all teachers who are interested in raising literacy achievement are welcome to attend.
